Kamaole Beach Park III (aka "Kam 3")
Overview:
With its huge grassy lawn, set of swings, and of course the sandy beach, Kamaole Beach Park III is Kihei's most popular beach.
This spot is SUPER popular with locals—especially on weekends—where bouncy houses and barbecues create a festive community atmosphere that borders on beachfront block party.
The scene on weekdays is much more laid-back, but this is definitely most "hopping" (for better or for worse) of Kihei's Kamaole beaches.
Of all the different beaches in Kihei, "Kam 3" has the most consistent waves for boogie boarding and bodysurfing, and there's also good snorkeling on the northern end of the beach.
If you're a bird watcher, take a stroll on the coastal trail on the southern end of the beach, where native u'au kani (wedge-tailed shearwaters) make their burrows in coastal dunes.

The parking lot for Kamaole III is actually pretty big, but when it fills up there's overflow parking along the side of the road. Worst case scenario, if you can't find any parking, there's a large dirt lot at the southern end of the beach between here and the Kihei Boat Ramp.
For anyone staying in nearby condos, walking is the easiest option.
