Ulua Beach
Overview:
If you've ever Googled "Best Beach For Snorkeling On Maui" then you've heard of Ulua Beach. Thanks to its gently, sandy entry and protected, shallow cove, Ulua is arguably Maui's best beach for snorkeling and shore based diving.
The best section of reef is the point between here and Mokapu Beach, which is just on the other side of the headland that separates the two bays. There's public parking, showers, restrooms, and resort restaurants within walking distance, and it's a great spot to escape the wind when everywhere else is blown out.

Good For:
Snorkeling, scuba diving, sunbathing, coastal walks
Not So Good For:
Crowds on the beach (and in the water)—early bird gets the worm!
Maui Expert Tip For Ulua Beach:
The parking lot fills up by about 9am, although if you arrive in the middle of the day and are patient there's a decent chance you'll catch someone leaving.
For the easiest entry when snorkeling or diving, launch from the sand—not off the rocks.
Directions and Parking Situation:
There's a large lot with public parking but it usually fills up early. It's located between the Wailea Beach Resort Marriott and the Andaz Maui resort.
Facilities:
Restrooms, showers, and resort restaurants within walking distance.
